Kurinji Flowers
The sanctuary is known for its unique association with the Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) flowers. These flowers bloom once every 12 years, covering the hills and valleys of the sanctuary in a vibrant purple-blue hue. The last mass blooming of Neelakurinji occurred in 2018, and the next one is expected in 2030.
